uve never heard of RONIN or LONE WOLF AND CUB? obviously you dont read manga that the core companies publish or you would have. BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL i have found, after reading the last couple of arcs online, is about the coolest, and bloodiest, manga book ever. RONIN HOOD was a dissapointment...thats a granted...but saying you have never heard of several of the most popular manga books is kind of depressing to hear from some one who started a thread about manga and how cool it is.

i actually wasted some of my precious time to find ur list of your favorite manga books, and tho i would never diss some ones taste in comics, i have found that naruto and shaman king (both of their comics published by the same company) actually arnt new stories at all. they are simply cartoon adaptions of the original japaneese story plot...so you could essentially watch seasons I and II (both out on dvd) instead of reading the books. from the looks of it, neither of these books seemed much to my taste. jing king of bandits on the other hand didnt looks so bad. comic book and cartoon (im not sure if this can be viewed in english...) are both adaption of a jap book on folklore and fiction. doesnt look to bad from what i could find. i couldnt find the company that publishes haruko no go, but the cartoon doesnt look like it would be something i would get into. im not dissing what you like in any way...but if u are gonna claim hardcore manga fanhood...perhaps you should pick up the classics and, in my opinion, greatest reads in the genera. its like being a hopless romantic and never reading romeo and juliet or gone w/ the wind.

i am not a real manga fan myself, ronin (by frank miller) and lone wolf and cub outsell all manga combined. to not know about these books and be a manga fan is like saying you are a big superhereo fan and never knowing who superman, batman or spiderman are. or liking baseball and not knowing babe ruth was a player. stop by a libary or comic shop and check out these books. then read what you enjoy, without the books i listed, the books you like could not even exist.

ya...u can get ur local library to get the RONIN VOLUME I from a iner-library loan. if you like lots of violence and murder plots...then ronin is for you. lone wolf and cub does not have a hardback version...but that doesnt mean that ur local library still might not be able to come up w/ the graphic novels for you. hope you look into it and enjoy.

ronin currently has volumes 1-7 out...each 13 or 14 comics each. personally, i downloaded all of them and read them on my computer as opposed to buying them. just a thought.
